National Dog Day
Celebrating our loyal, loving canine companions who greet us with pure joy, offer unconditional love, and make every day better just by existing. Dogs truly are our best friends.
What Is National Dog Day?
National Dog Day, celebrated annually on August 26th since 2004, honors dogs of all breeds and encourages adoption from shelters and rescues. The day celebrates the unconditional love, loyalty, and companionship dogs provide while raising awareness about the thousands of dogs in need of homes.
Dogs offer more than companionshipâthey provide emotional support, improve mental health, encourage physical activity, and create joy through their enthusiasm for life. From service dogs who perform essential tasks to family pets who simply love us, dogs make the world immeasurably better.
